Building a Story Beyond the Page: Where You Can Find Me
Writing a book is only one part of the journey.Building a world, connecting with readers, and creating a space where stories live, that’s the work I’m doing every single day.
If you’re new here, or if you’re a fellow writer looking to feel a little less alone in this big creative wilderness, I wanted to share where I’m showing up and how I’m working to build something real with Veil of Embers and the Threadfire Series.

Where I stand in the publishing world
When I started writing Veil of Embers, I didn’t know what would come of it. I just knew I had a world I needed to build and a story I needed to tell. Since then, the world has grown bigger, the story deeper, and my path clearer. So I wanted to take a moment and share exactly where I stand in the publishing journey, for those who are curious (or walking a similar path).
Book 1: Complete and Querying
Veil of Embers (Book 1 of the Threadfire Series) is complete. It’s the book that started everything, and I’m currently querying it to agents with the goal of traditional publication. It’s been revised, beta-read, and revised again. Now, it’s out there, on desks, in inboxes, and hopefully, on the minds of a few sharp-eyed agents who see its potential.
Book 2: Done and going to Beta
Book 2 is complete and will be in the hands of 25 beta readers. This book goes deeper into the magic, the politics, and the personal stakes.
Book 3: In Progress
Yes, I’m writing Book 3 now. The world has taken root, and the threads are pulling tight. The stakes are higher, the consequences are real, and honestly? I’m having the time of my life creating it.
Why I’m Sharing This
Publishing can be a slow, strange process 😅especially when you’re in the in-between. Not published yet, not quite “new” anymore. Just writing. Just putting in the work. This post is for anyone wondering where I’m at, and maybe also for anyone who needs to hear that being in progress is a valid.
Thanks for being here. Whether you’re a reader, a writer, or someone just passing through, this story is growing, and I’m so grateful to be telling it.
Early Reactions Are In: Rave Reviews from My Beta Readers
When I first shared Book 1 of The Threadfire Series with my beta readers, I was nervous. Would the magic land? Would they care about the characters as deeply as I do?
Now, after hearing their responses, I’m beyond grateful and more excited than ever to keep building this world.
Just a Glimpse: One Slice of the Threadfire Map
Creating a fantasy world is one thing, mapping it is something else entirely.
What you’re seeing here? This is only one small section of the world behind The Threadfire Series. A single corner of a much larger land filled with crystal-rich mountains, secret forests, war-torn coasts, and ancient cities with stories I haven’t even fully told yet.
Places like Ironridge, The Hollow, Glenn Na Mara, and Lumora all play roles in the series but trust me, they’re just the beginning. This is the part I can show you. The rest? Still under wraps, and for good reason.
Building this map has been a huge undertaking. It’s a living document, growing, shifting, and expanding as the story does. As new characters travel beyond borders, new regions unfold. There are hidden islands, forgotten keeps, and entire realms I haven’t let anyone see yet (not even my beta readers). For now, I hope this piece of the world sparks your curiosity. What do you think is hidden beyond the foggy edges?
Meet the Characters
The world of The Threadfire Series is built on magic, legacy, and choices that can burn or bind. As Book 2 prepares to go into beta readers’ hands and Book 3 brews behind the scenes, I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to the characters at the heart of this journey, visually. Below you’ll find mood boards that capture the essence of each main character: their personalities, their struggles, and the atmosphere that surrounds them. These aren’t just portraits, they’re snapshots of what drives them, what haunts them, and what they fight for.

Tuatha De Danann
I’ve loved mythology for as long as I can remember. I was the kid who joined after-school mythology clubs just for fun.
I’ve always dreamed of writing a book series that dives into Irish mythology and folklore, focusing mainly on Druids.
The reason? My mother is Irish, and she grew up with stories and legends I never heard much about in the U.S. I was fascinated—and completely determined to create a story she could read, one that truly honored her heritage.
She always told me she could never find books that truly focused on Druids, and she was obsessed with them. So, I made it my mission to write that story for her.
Then I became a mother myself. I started telling stories to my kids, making up worlds and adventures, and they loved hearing them.
That’s when I decided—I was going to write these books, no matter what. Not just for my mother, but for my children and myself.
Because there will always be obstacles, always reasons why you can’t do something.
But only those who push through them truly make their dreams come true.
Let’s talk villans
When I created my book, I knew from the very start I wanted to humanize the villain in my story. I didn’t want it to be so cut and dry, black and white because no one is entirely bad or good, everyone has a gray area. I wanted to make sure that when I wrote my villain that I made sure that his circumstances led him to where he was. He was taken from his mother as a baby and raised in an abusive, solitary Demanding upbringing and raised to hate so many things. I wanted the reader to sympathize with him, and I wanted my readers to think about what they would do if they knew no better. I also wanted to make sure I added moments where you can tell that he’s being used, but isn’t oblivious to him. To my readers, it’s incredibly obvious, but to be in his shoes , to walk in his life, He’s been so manipulated and twisted he’s blind to it. You will dislike him, but you’ll also understand.
What is Veil of Embers?
In the realm of Eadartha, a world where the balance between the Veil and the mortal plane is crumbling, Sorcha, a gifted ranger marked by glowing runes of ancient magic, is thrust into a conflict she never asked for. What begins as an ordinary patrol soon spirals into a revelation of dark truths: decaying lands, restless gods, and creatures from the Otherworld bleeding into her reality.
The once-protected realm now teeters on the edge of chaos, and whispers of a dark druid—an enigmatic figure with ties to her past—lurk in the shadows. Sorcha must navigate treacherous alliances, the sharp edges of betrayal, and the mysteries of her own untapped power as the world around her begins to fracture.
But the fight isn’t just between light and darkness—it’s a battle of survival, where the lines between hero and villain blur, and the choices Sorcha makes will determine the fate of Eadartha.
The Veil is thinning. The embers are rising. And Sorcha must decide: will she save the world, or let it burn?
A look inside the Realm of Eadartha
The world inside The Veil of Embers was building two separate worlds. It was a something I loved doing and at the same time was overwhelmed by. Once you put everything on paper you realize just how in depth the process is to explain to those not inside your head( not as easy you would think haha) here are some the places and things you will encounter in the world of Eadartha.
